BLOG 06-10-08
Soms lijkt het wel alsof het maken van een plaat niet meer behelst dan vrolijk in je studiootje wat deuntjes eruit pompen. Ik ga door tot ik er minstens 20 heb, maar vandaag heb ik er al voortijdig 1 teruggetrokken. Zonder het me op tijd te realiseren was de tekst kwetsend. Dan kun je zeggen: het is toch maar een liedje, fictie, alles-voor-de-kunst, toch? Nee. Er zijn gevallen waarin een nummer opeens zo'n vieze nasmaak krijgt dat je het ogenblikkelijk laat afvallen. Ook al was de demo al 100% klaar. En ook al had je net je hele zondagmiddag besteed aan het maken van een YouTube over juist dat nummer. Morgen dus verder met een nieuwe song, en een YouTube maken over... eh? Dit zijn kostbare vergissingen.

It got some really good reviews, like four stars in Dutch national newspaper De Volkskrant. The first single is 'The Joke Is On Me'.
